Science was always something that I found fascinating and that I loved
to learn about, and throughout high school as I began taking a wider variety of
science classes, a career in science and medicine became more and more
appealing. I have always loved working with kids, ever since I was young, so
the more I thought about it, a career in pediatric medicine sounded like
something that I would want to pursue. In college I hope to major in Biology or
Anatomy and Physiology
1. Pediatric Nurse
A pediatric nurse is someone who specializes in caring for children
from infancy through their late teen years. Tasks of a pediatric nurse run from
performing physical examinations and taking blood samples to calming and
communicating with scared children.

2. Pediatric Surgeon
A pediatric surgeon is someone who treats a child’s illness or medial
condition through an invasive operation. Most pediatric surgeons specialize in
treating specific development ages of children.
- The average annual salary before taxes of all surgeons is $233,000, however salary does vary greatly depending on what hospital you work for as well as where you live.
- Education requirements for becoming a pediatric surgeon involves 4 years of undergraduate schooling, 4 years of medical school, 7 years of residency in a hospital as well as a one year fellowship.
- Pediatric surgeons need to have personalities that are friendly and respectful, as well as competitive.
3. Physician’s Assistant
A physician’s assistant is a medical provider who is licensed to
diagnose and treat illnesses as well as prescribe medications for patients.

ReplyDeleteI also love science classes as well and look forward to taking more in the future. All the jobs you chose are very interesting. Becoming a pediatric surgeon requires a lot of schooling but may be worth it in the end, especially if you really enjoy science classes.
