Goals/Habits/Allies

On a short term basis, my goals for the upcoming school include keeping up high enough grades. I aspire to stay on top of school work, work in general, and internship work, in order to learn as much, do as much, and get as far as I can in terms of a future -- for college applications and for completing goals over a longer term. Uphold high GPA. Persist in SAT and achieve higher score. Apply to colleges with the goal to get in. {UC Davis etcetc}. Discover more about myself - grab open opportunities.

After getting into college and a couple years into the future, it is my goal to have a successful, steady job within 5 to 10 years. I hope I can explore enough and as of now, I dream to work in the health field, quite possibly in the realm of pharmacy. I hope to get into 4 year university and then further with pharmacy school (if the internship goes well) or med school or something else all together. Attend 4-year University and then Pharmacy/Medical School afterwards.

Current habits that I have right now for achieving such goals portray myself as very conscientious and motivated. I put in the effort to make sure I complete tasks to the best of my abilities, although I need to develop better time management skills as a future habit. Increase work ethic and stop procrastination; increase productivity. Withhold high conscientiousness, motivation, organization, driving curiosity, and consistency.

My greatest allies at this point in time are (in order) my parents, grandparents, possibly even aunts and uncles. I feel I can also go to particular teachers/counselors I've had in my past years of high school.

Blog Post #1

On the day of June 23, 2015 within the planet of Earth in the Milky Way Galaxy, I was asked several questions. The questions were simple to some, yet difficult to others. They were the sort of questions that could either keep you up at night or are a no brainer. For I, one who takes minutes, or hours, deciding the locations of my next meal they required an ample amount of thought.

The subject of the first set of questions were, simply, one's goals, both log-term and short-term ones. My short term goal was answered easily, to make a plan. My amazing plan will be very organized, scheduling my trips over the gap year which I will take, to finally figure out what schools I want to go to in the future, if I am sure I want to go into the medical field, etc. My long-term goal is to become a forensic pathologist, my current job of choice, on the East coast. Yet I found there was one goal I wished to accomplish throughout my entire life, long and short term wise, it is to make a difference. That goal will be what will mean the most to me, to help others and be a positive influence on the world.

The next set of questions is one I have a large difficulty in, habits. I am an open person, one who enjoys going with the flow of a situation and thinks what to do next, not what to do after the next task is finished. That aspect of mine leaves me with a ton of bad habits. One bad habit is procrastination, oh how I hate to plan and work by the schedule given, it is a habit which I need to fix for both reasons within and out of the educational realm. So a habit I need to develop for me to succeed is to plan out my time efficiently and work by that plan. Another habit which I need to develop is communication, if someone doesn't reach out to me it is very likely I won't try to communicate which them. Yet there is one habit which I am proud that I created, being able to work when others well when it is needed, if that is a habit in the first place. I may have lied because there is another habit I love, being honest to those around me. I will take the blame or admit anything if it is my fault or I am incorrect.

Lastly, we were asked to think about our current allies and if there were people we wanted to pull into our web of connections. One ally which I will always have is my family, family is always very important to us. If someone in our family needs help we will gladly give it to them, even though I don't talk to them as much as I should. Some other allies that I have are my high school teachers. In particular I know my principal, Ms. Seabury, through my extracurricular club and we have talked on several, many, occasions. Though there are several Allies which I might want in the future. One allyI will want in particular might be my Aegis supervisor, Amber, or someone else within the organisation.

With that I say farewell, till I write on you again,

Sarah Stillman
