Blog #2: work readiness skills

Positive:
Dedicated-
I am extremely dedicated to my experience working at my internship. I show up on time, and i never skip a day working at the TL Vets. I want to learn more so i'm asking tons of questions and i'm observing as much as i possibly can.

Improve-
I'm extremely successful at improving, as i've proved in the past year. I love to show people that i can get better and that they shouldn't just write me off. I want to improve at my internship by learning more and doing more for the Doctors and technicians.

Negative:
Communication-
I'm incredibly shy so i don't speck that much when i've started at the TL Vet, but as the day goes on i warm up a little more and begin to ask questions. I need to work on being more open and seeming friendlier upon arrival. I sometimes feel that my silence makes me seem awkward and uncomfortable at places. I need to stop being so uptight and relax a little, also I need to realize that talking and being friendly will only make my time there more enjoyable and also will make everyone like me more.

  1. I completely understand. I felt the same way my first day but recognizing your areas of weakness if the first step to making progress, so good job.

  4. It is very nice to hear that you consider as "successful at improving", because not many people (considering myself) are good at it. Do not be so shy, rather than waiting to "warm up", just let yourself go and enjoy every minute of your internship, because for being shy many opportunities can be lost.
Good luck with what remains of internship :)

  5. It's good that you can admit dedication as being one of your strong suits while interning, in the end it matters what you give out and take in from the experience as a whole and dedication is a huge part of that. Also it's okay to be shy at first, especially in a place where it seems like your superiors, doctors who've spent years achieving degrees at universities, are intimating, so no need to fret.
