I will start off with my short term goals, because they are much more concise. Firs of all, one of my goals would be to maintain the proper grades in school to get into a good college. To achieve this goal, I would have to make sacrifices, some of which include cutting down on time spent on sports and other leisurely activities. Thinking of an even sooner date, another short term goal for me would be to get as much knowledge and information out of my internship as possible. I know that this internship will truly guide me to a proper career choice. In terms of long term goals, I will give a generalized statement, because if not, I would be writing paragraph, after paragraph, after paragraph. My long term goals include going to UCSF Medical School, getting a PhD, and becoming a plastic surgeon.
The topic "habits" is interesting, because it lets me express both my good and bad habits. I will start off with my bad habits, just to get that out of the way. The biggest one is procrastination. Procrastination has always been my kryptonite. It even shows now because I am posting around 1:00 AM. I will be honest, procrastination had gotten the best of me a few times, and the impact was shown in my grades. Another one of my bad habits is, it happens only sometimes, but poor communication. This less-frequently showing bad habit has also had negative impacts because it proved to the group I had been working on a project, for example, that I was unable to provide vital information, impacting the final outcome of the project. I have been working to attempt to neutralize this issue, and I have been, to an extent, successful. Some of my good habits include determination, the will to go above-and-beyond, and good common sense. These seem like small habits, especially the last one, but without any of those, it is difficult to achieve what I am striving to become in my future.
The people you encounter within your journey called life can make you, or break you. That's why it is crucial to make allies along the way. My biggest allies currently include my family, my former Biology and AP Biology teachers Mr. Addis and Mr. Dick. However, rising on the ally ladder this year will be my College, Career, and Resource Center Advisor Mrs. Grillo and my school counselor Mrs. Triantafyllos. These allies will help guide me through my last year or high school, and hopefully I can keep these allies even when I go to college. In the future, I hope to gain valuable assets, such as professors, and medical professionals that practice in the same field that I will be attempting to enter into. Establishing good relations with different people can be the difference, and the best place to start is this Internship because it gives me a sense of things to come in the future. I can observe certain interactions between doctors, nurses, etc., and it will allow me to acquaint myself with the system and how to prepare myself for it.
You seem certain in your ability to achieve your goals and rid your habits, and I like that. Normally this is the way you can actually achieve things and make changes, by realizing the things that need to be achieved or changed. Good job and good luck with your ambitions.
ReplyDeleteP.S Don't worry, procrastination gets the better of all of us.
